It's truly amazing how much impact can one work of art could have on society, especially if it's something that gathers a massive group of people to unite. That's definitely what happens with movies—people all around the world watch them in their own place and at their own time, but once they come on to the Internet, they find pleasure in being able to bond with strangers over the things they liked or hated about a certain film.

Movies are undoubtedly the best things that have happened in our civilization and it has everything that you would ever need for a good ol' alone time, date night, or just a typical movie night: music, cinematography, an entertaining story, and characters that you could find yourself to relate with. Everything about movies is just enjoyable (well, aside from the exceptionally bad ones), and it's definitely easy to get lost in the fictional worlds on your screen and pretend that the characters are actual people who just make stubborn and bad choices in life.

That being said, the best parts of watching these movies are, of course, the plot twists! Most of them are cleverly weaved in into the story, and it kind of seems like they just got out from nowhere but looking back, the plot twist actually makes sense.

Lo and behold, people have spoken and shared the best movie plot twists they have ever witnessed in the history of film. Of course, there will be a lot of spoilers once you scroll down, so proceed at your own risk!

1. The Usual Suspects (1995)

"I sat there with my jaw on the floor for about 10 full minutes after it was finished, and I kept going back over everything that had happened to make sense of it all. So well done!"

2. Scream (1996)

"Not only when you find out that two of Sidney's friends are the killers...but also when you find out that they are also the ones who killed Sidney’s mother! The first three Scream movies really did have mind-fuck plot twists for my teenage brain."

elizabethsweatt

5. Fight Club (1999)

7. Frozen (2013)

"Disney marketed Hans as the 'good guy,' and then — with less than 20 minutes left to the movie — he turns out to be the villain?! He portrayed every quality of a typical Disney prince, and I think that's why it was such a shock to everyone. We, as the audience, were made to believe that Hans was perfect for Anna, and we didn't question it because of the 'true love' concept created by Disney. I remember sitting in the theater watching that and hearing the audible gasps in the audience. I still get mad to this day watching that scene."

Cory Lyle Vinderslev, Facebook

9. Saw (2004)

caitlinm18

30. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Ashton Melchert

36. Us (2019)

"The ending of this movie is so incredible. Jordan Peele, being the talented man that he is, left MANY clues throughout the set up, but the twist is still so unnerving. Basically it ends up that, when the main character got lost as a little girl, she was kidnapped and forced to switch places with her doppelgänger, so the REAL main character was actually stuck underground the whole time. Not much scares me, but I left the theater feeling so creeped out and briefly considered just never leaving my house again."

cassandras43100c5b2

46. The Sixth Sense (1999)

sydneyk416a6bc73

"This deserves a spot on this list. You're welcome."

ellemnida1994

jordans43125d2f3

Nothing really beats a movie with an awesome plotline revolving around interesting characters, and then a plot twist just shoots out seemingly out of nowhere, right? Being taken by surprise with the way things are turning out in a movie is definitely one of the best feelings ever.
