18 Really Bad But Still Lovable Movies That We Can Watch Over And Over

We absolutely love movies. If you don't, what are you?

Seriously though, we don't think the world is complete without movies. It's like someone takes one of the biggest present boxes for you from under the Christmas tree never to be seen again.

The best part is there's usually something in every genre that we can appreciate so we'll give any film that looks remotely compelling a chance. And when a not Oscar-worthy film comes out and we still get a kick out of it, we don't really feel any shame.

Movies, after all, were made for entertainment and even the most awful ones can actually be pretty entertaining. Also, there's really something about just being able to sit down in front of your TV and not really having to think or judge too much.

Sometimes, we just need to chill without having our brains work and movies that aren't really too complicated will do just the trick for those mindless moments. It doesn't matter if they're cringy or considered trash by the movie elites so long as we have something worthy to veg out in front of.

1. The Matrix Ressurections

The Matrix movie series was a hit and when producers announced that there was going to be another movie after 17 years of the last one, fans were thrilled. Unfortunately, not everyone is convinced that the world really needed it.

But you know what? It was a fun watch and we'd probably watch it just as many times as we watched the other Matrix films.

2. Scary Movie

The 'Scary Movie' films look like they were written and made by a couple of high schoolers with really active imaginations but they were kind of hilarious. So if you're cool with just having a good laugh about something absolutely ridiculous, there are five of these films to watch.

3. Eurotrip

The 2004 film was absolutely ridiculous and raunchy but it was so much fun to watch. Matt Damon even had a cameo.

Plus, it's a nostalgic watch so we're putting it on our rewatch list.

4. Deep Blue Sea

The film features an all-star cast including Samuel L. Jackson, LL Cool J, Thomas Jane, and Michael Rappaport so it should be a great sci-fi film, right? Sorry but nope.

It was just so poorly written and the special effects were clunky at best but that won't stop us from watching it again.

5. BASEketball

The 1998 comedy 'BASEketball' from the creators of South Park is definitely not a good movie but we'd rewatch it again because of its nostalgic quality.

6. Empire Records

Starring Liv Tyler, Renee Zellweger, and Debi Mazar, the film 'Empire Records' actually made us swoon with the great fashion and epic soundtrack but there really wasn't much to it. It's a classic coming-of-age tale though and it's so full of 90s nostalgia that we might watch it again.

7. The Fast and the Furious

Let's be honest. The entire franchise of the Fast and the Furious isn't great but the first movie was actually okay. That's why we keep going back to it no matter how many more movies they release.

7. The Fast and the FuriousUniversal Pictures

8. Napoleon Dynamite

We're still wondering how in the world this became such a hit but now it's embedded as a part of American pop culture. There are also tons of hilarious and unforgettable lines and scenes that have spawned countless memes that keep us going back to the film.

9. Talladega Nights

Starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, this film was just awful but it just keeps reeling us in. It's just so effortlessly funny for no real reason that we just enjoy it every time it comes on.

10. Magnolia

We really thought 'Magnolia' was going to be a hit. It had Tom Cruise after all.

But it was just bizarre and not in the good kind of way. Still, it gives off the vibe that it's going to be a great one every time we start it and maybe it's that hope that it will get better over time that keeps us watching it again.

11. Crossroads

'Crossroads' had Britney Spears, Zoe Saldana, and Taryn Manning but it still turned out to be undeniably terrible. That doesn't stop us from getting excited when we see it on TV though and we think that's because when we were younger, we actually wanted to be them and the feelings come back when we see a glimpse of it.

12. Rambo

Okay, we don't really think Rambo is truly awful but it doesn't really top the charts either but still, the film manages to reel us in every time it comes on so why not?

13. Obsessed

Again, this movie was star-studded with casts like Beyonce and Idris Elba but their star power just didn't carry the movie up. Also, if we're being honest, Queen Bey's acting skills really aren't that great but maybe it's the hope that she'll redeem herself that keeps us watching any of her films.

14. Cocktail

It's another Tom Cruise film on the list and while this one was pretty popular, it was still pretty crappy. It was totally 80s and pretty silly but young Tom was adorable so we'd watch it again just because of him.

15. Idle Hands

This 1999 horror-comedy film is mediocre at best but back in the day, many people thought it was cool and for that reason, we'd still watch it again.

16. Lucky Numbers

Lucky Number starred John Travolta and Lisa Kudrow in their prime and everyone just loved them together. We think we were all blinded by them that we managed to ignore how bad the movie really was.

We still love seeing the two together though during this time period so we'll watch the film again.

17. Rocky V

Many people who are fans of the Rocky franchise just can't skip over 'Rocky V' just because it's not as good as the others. You just have to power through.

Plus, there's just a certain level of excitement and emotion whenever a Rocky film comes on which makes any of them worth watching again and again.

18. Showgirls

The movie 'Showgirls' actually had a good premise but the acting and script were just done poorly that the potential of the story didn't translate onscreen. It's still intriguing though.

In addition to being entertaining, these kinds of movies are the ones that you won't feel guilty about not finishing or not really paying attention to. So you're free to do anything you want while it just plays in the background keeping you company.

So while they're not the best, they still have a place in our lives and we're glad to have them in them. Which one is your bad but not too bad film?
