If you look at the grandparents you've grown up with, you see a parental figure who has lived a life you know very little about (usually, anyway.) You see their wrinkles and their age and you almost have no clue what you've missed out on!
That's where pictures come in handy, precious memories from a time lost to us in a world where gratification has become so instant. Seeing pictures from the 70's, 50's, or even early 1900's is quite the blast from the past.
Seeing your own family members in those pictures is something incredible! Especially when it turns out they were 100x cooler than you are as your current self at a similar age...
