Fire Survivor Snaps At Aunt After She Compares Her To Her Twin, Saying "She Would Be Pretty Like That If It Weren't For The Injuries"

Over 180,000 people die from burn injuries every year around the world. Around 95% of burn deaths exclusively occur in low- and middle-income countries; a huge portion of disability and disfigurement in these countries is caused by severe burns.

Thousands of severe burn patients have been saved from death worldwide in recent decades. The treatment and care of severe burns have improved thanks to crucial advancements in the field that reduced mortality.

Most of most current research has been diverted to the psycho-social issues of the survivors. While the physical challenges are a constant issue, many burn survivors have to deal with social and psychological complications such as social isolation, dissatisfaction with appearance, and social participation restrictions.

A Redditor who goes by the username u/survburnad made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where she explained how she's a burn survivor who's been dealing with several issues because of it. The user made the post because she was unsure whether she was in the wrong after a comeback she said to her aunt following a heartless comment she made.

The user got a lot of different reactions to their post. Scroll down to check out the full Reddit post, and scroll a little further to read the comments from the original post.
