Hello darkness, my old friend.

The Internet is a bizarre and unusual place. Not too long ago we were staring in puzzled amusement at a company that is making life-like masks of our pets... I mean, like hyper-realistic masks of our pets. That's where we are as a society, we can stare at our bewildered cat wearing their face on our face and it's a variation of everyday normal, apparently. If things couldn't get any more bizarre... now instead of wearing your pet's face, you can put a human face on your pet.
That's right folks, Pet Entertainment Spoofs is making a human-face muzzle for your dog(s.) Gone are the days of standard muzzles, duck-bill buzzles, and really any other sort of muzzle imaginable. Now is the reign of the horrifying yet hilarious human-face muzzle.
The masks are made from latex and are designed to look like the bottom half of a human face. Although what really raises the bar on these unique muzzles are the exaggerated features which range in variety from enormous red lips to giant buck teeth, and even a mouth with a cigar clenched between the teeth.
AmazonThey're incredibly unique and paws-itively hilarious, so we can't help but sincerely appreciate the people who accessorized further with wigs.
AmazonThe company AXAYINC appears to typically sell cool-looking nightlights, so the unusual pet product is a stretch from their typical demographic. But golly, have they nailed it.
AmazonAXAYINC advertises that the masks are designed to prevent biting... as well as eating unclean food.
AmazonLook at this face. It's clearly saying, "I would never eat unclean food."
AmazonHowever, some of the customer reviews suggest that the muzzle/mask does a terrible job at doing anything other than giving us a few giggles because it is "secured with a single strained of elastic," and "dog can shake it off easily."
AmazonOther reviews were more critical, insisting that the latex mask is cruel and would prevent our dogs from properly breathing:
Dogs regulate their heat through panting and this restricts breathing. Imagine wearing one of those latex Halloween masks yourself and its hot and restricting. Now think about it on a dog who can't sweat and needs to pant to cool off.
AmazonAccording to AXAYINC, there are holes in the nose and the mouth. But when asked, "How can the dog breathe through the tiny holes in this? Seems very unsafe and distressing for the dog." They responded by saying, "Dog masks used to entertain funny, I don't recommended for long periods of time at hot weather."
AmazonSome reviews were not bothered by the semantics, even 5 minutes of uncontrollable laughter was worth the $10 spent.
AmazonAs to what sort of dog these masks fit best... well it's hard to say. The masks are flat, so a long-snouted larger dog like a German Shepherd is probably out of the question. However, smaller breeds had owners report back that they weren't a good fit either.
AmazonAnd another person was sure to let people know:
This is not actually for a dog. They are selling normal human half masks that you'd get at the Halloween store and saying they're for dogs. This is obviously in response to people posting photos of dogs wearing Halloween masks online. This product is in no way designed for dogs; fit, safety, or function.

This was fun! Worth every penny with all the laughs!!
AmazonWe're inclined to agree, that $10 for the intense amount of laughter produced even for a few minutes isn't a bad deal.
AmazonWhen confronted on Facebook, users were generally appalled, mildly horrified, and confused about being amused.
FacebookMany people just didn't understand the allure, even for humor purposes.
FacebookWhile others were able to relax a little and have an old-fashioned chuckle at a clearly spoof product intended to brighten your day and make you laugh. Isn't hat what we all need sometimes?
FacebookDon't forget to think of the children.
