Man's Daughter Accidentally Lets Dog Out Of The Car And It Runs Away, But How He Reacts Is The Problem

Kids make mistakes and they do stupid things sometimes but that's because they are kids.

We are here again today with another Reddit post from the AITA page that got quite a bit of attention, so we figured we'd cover it over here on our website.

If you're unfamiliar with these then the AITA thread is specifically for people to explain situations that they've been through and ask people whether or not they are in the wrong for how they acted or reacted to the situation.

It's a great way to get an unbiased opinion on the situation and to see if they really are wrong or if they weren't the one wrong. Ultimately, the Reddit commenters have the ability to vote and declare the OP either TA or NTA, or something ESH or NAH.

So, this time we'll be covering a story of a dad whose daughter accidentally let out and lost his girlfriend's dog. Now, kids make mistakes and we've all probably been in a situation where we've had to clean up a mess or fix something that a kid has done, but a lot of the times we have to just understand that they are kids.

OP started off the post by explaining him, his girlfriend, and his daughter's situation.

Then he discussed what the situation was with the dog and he also explains what they told Emily.

He admits that his daughter was acting quite bored, but he didn't think anything would happen.

This is when things went south and his daughter decided to let the dog out of the car.

Emily admitted what she did, but her dad wasn't happy with her and was very upset with her decision to do what she did.

He said the road trip was cut short and he didn't even want to say goodbye to his daughter because of what happened. So he's wondering if he's in the wrong for hos he reacted.

This comment said a lot and basically declared him TA for how he reacted since she's simply a child.

He should apologize because you never know why she got out. She could have been scared.

It was quite neglectful on both parts of the parent and the girlfriend because neither of them should have stayed in the car.

She didn't ask to go. She just happened to be at her dad's home that weekend that they'd be going on the trip.

Ultimately the whole setup was ridiculous because I don't think that the 9 year old and a dog should be left alone in the car that much anyway.

This comment asked for a bit of information and pretty much said that he was ridiculous for the whole situation.

We can't imagine how the daughter must feel and ultimately we do think that the dad was in the wrong here.

Pretty much everyone agreed that the dad (OP) was in the wrong for how he reacted and how he scolded his daughter. We couldn't imagine what the daughter was thinking after her dad didn't even say bye because of a mistake that she made.

Ultimately, we do agree with all of the comments though.
