There’s something about dogs that make them pretty irresistible to animal lovers. Aside from them being incredible companions, they are the helpers everyone needs.

If a person is lucky enough, they will have a dog to come home to at least once in their lifetime. The rush of oxytocin that a cuddle from these canines gives is second to none.

More importantly, there’s nothing more comforting than playing with your pet dog on a gloomy day. It’s the one thing that can transform your frown into a smile in minutes.

Unfortunately, dogs aren’t the easiest animals to cater to. They require more attention and time than some other animals, which may make them a poor pet choice for people who are too busy.

They can also be expensive to cater to, and this eliminates the possibility of anyone who’s financially unstable owning a dog. 

Many people may abandon their dogs for these reasons, despite how sad it may be. 

Research shows that around 3.9 million dogs are abandoned or given up to shelters annually, and only 10% of dogs born will find a permanent home. These are frightening statistics to come to terms with for any dog lover.

What’s even more heartbreaking is this story of an abandoned dog who was found waving at each passerby at a supermarket entrance. No one knows where his owner is or why he was tied up for so long, but one thing is clear, he needs a new family to take him home.

Meet the cutie

A social media user, Binh An, posted a video about an abandoned dog who greets shoppers at the entrance of a supermarket every day. The dog was tethered at the store door, where he unwittingly began to wave to shoppers every day.

Everyone’s favorite staff

The dog would always wag his tail and wave whenever he saw customers coming in and out of the supermarket. Some people reciprocated his hearty welcome by offering him food and beverages.

However, his sad eyes showed that this wasn't just a mere greeting; he was lonely. Thankfully, people stopped by to thank him and play with him for some time.

Where are his parents?

Quite unfortunately, no one knew about the dog’s background story, but it was clear that its owner had abandoned him for quite some time. This broke everyone’s heart.

Undoubtedly, the dog became a highlight for many people, and they looked forward to seeing him at the supermarket. 

Nothing could stop the online community from falling in love with this dog the same way the supermarket customers had.

Pets are so precious that we can’t help but wonder why this dog owner would abandon their pup. It was so heartbreaking to see him tied and all alone each day.

We hope someone decides to adopt him soon and take him for many walks afterward to ease the pain of being tied up.
