We see situations like this all the time on the AITA thread on Reddit where parents are looking for advice after they've done something seemingly out of line, but essentially, if it's deserved, then they're NTA. Some people said that the consequences would porbably be worse if it had happened to them and we don't blame them honestly.

This is a good idea and it seems that OP thought it was too so it's definitely a course of action that might need to be taken.

This would have been my response because obviously she wasn't around to see them throwing the fruit like that anyway.

Typically when another adult yells at kids like that then it's for a reason and usually the parents would continue the discipline.

The mother should have been on top of it and either done something after she found out or been there so the kids couldn't throw fruit.

This definitely is what should have happened and it's sad that it wasn't taken this way by the neighbor and so now OP seems like TA for it.

People should just be mindful that their kids aren't perfect and that discipline is okay especially when it involves someone else.

This comment actually was on the opposite side and they said that they felt that OP's reaction was actually an overreaction and that they didn't do anything that bad.

It absolutely seems like most of these people are on the same page about this situation and they think that OP is not in the wrong.

Again, it wouldn't have happened if the mom was around watching her kids.

This situation does suck and we hope that OP really gets the help she needs with the pool situation because we know that it can be difficult to clean pools. Really though, it seems that everyone was on the same page about this situation and OP's response to it.
