Even as little girls, most of us dreamed of a relationship like the ones we see in Disney movies and romcoms, and we honestly blame them for setting our standards up so high. But hey, we all deserve more than just the bare minimum, right?

Having the perfect partner for us means having someone we could always depend on no matter what, and there is always an assurance that they won't leave us hanging when times get rough. At times when we need mental, emotional, and even financial aid, we can always count on them to help us get up—may it be by letting us borrow their resources or helping us find ways to acquire them.

However, respect must always be there, and when we borrow a certain amount of money from them, it should always be in our best interests to return it back as soon as we can. Money matters aren't a joke, and especially if you aren't even married [yet], there's really no other excuse to not pay them on time—it is their money, after all.

There's a different case with a particular Reddit user with the handle u/Fantastic_Ad_9067, however. Apparently, her boyfriend borrowed money from her, and kept making excuses as to why he couldn't pay her back just yet—but then she found herself in a frustrating situation that pushed her to walk out when they were in a restaurant together with some friends.

OP posted the situation under the r/AITA subreddit community, and the post has now gathered over 23K upvotes, and 3K comments.

OP lent her boyfriend money, who promised to return it as soon as possible. However, "something" came up so he wasn't able to pay on time.

OP got robbed in a bus on her way home from work, and she couldn't get her new cards just yet. She had no money left to spare then.

She still went to their planned dinner, explained what happened, and to her horror and frustration, her boyfriend only ordered for himself because he couldn't pay for two at the moment.

Naturally, OP got frustrated since he was the one who owed money in the first place—and he didn't even bat an eye when only ordering for himself. He only offered OP his "scraps," apparently.

Having no meal to eat and a selfish boyfriend, OP walked out of the restaurant. However, their friends believe that she was the one at fault for leaving.
