Wally the walrus has become quite a celebrity because of his road trip through European waters, far away from his native Arctic. There is no explanation for his arrival to the warm European waters. Still, some people believe that the animal simply fell asleep on an iceberg that was later carried down south by the currents.
It appears he is enjoying his adventure, and there are numerous sightings all over the European Atlantic coasts. The latest sighting happened near the town of Clonakilty in Ireland. The local distillery employees spotted the large animal floating on one of their boats anchored near.

"It was definitely unexpected," Adam Collins, spokesman for Clonakilty Distillery, says. "Wally's been spotted in Irish waters before, but we never thought in a million years we'd see him here, especially in one of our team's boat."
Wally was apparently in need of a rest — and he'd found a good place to get it.
"He seemed pretty relaxed, just chilling in the boat," Collins added.
The boat tilted a bit due to Wally's weight, but that didn't appear to bother him much. That vessel was a great place to rest, and the owners didn't mind one bit.
"Thankfully, there was no damage caused to the boat," Collins explained. "We were quite happy just to leave him be and chill out!"
Wally even took a nap.

"It was an amazing experience just to see him," Collins said.
