Many dog owners imagine a world without leashes, where their pets can roam freely and their owners won't have to worry about them pulling in all directions or getting tangled in their leashes. They imagine a location where dogs can run off all of their extra energy at will.

Dogs who have a need to run can finally do so, or they can just decide to explore and sniff around. While it may seem like bliss to experience life without boundaries, there are dangers involved.

It can be easy to underestimate these risks while taken in by the sheer pleasure of observing dogs interact with their surroundings, only to come to appreciate how priceless our dogs are after a negative incident. The OP has a group of colleagues and friends with whom they party at each other's homes almost every weekend, taking turns.

A colleague joined them, and on getting their turn, they found out the host has a Dalmatian dog. The OP encountered a situation where the dog was kind of all over the petrified kids.

It got to a point where the dog became overactive and, at some point, scratched the OP's younger child with some blood oozing. Still, this host refused to leash their dog, so the OP decided that they wouldn't come by if they didn't do something about their dog.
