Moment Grandma Gets Kicked Out Of Daughter's House For Calling Granddaughter "Unladylike"
Mind what you say about other people

When contrasted with the brazen and boisterous male species, women are thought to be the “fairer sex." This is because there are unwritten standards that specify what constitutes a “proper” lady.
In fact, there are rules that women are obligated to abide by. According to popular belief, the perfect lady is a polite, fair, and reserved person who doesn't fart, crap, or smell unpleasant.
Additionally, ribbons, butterflies, and the prettiest things in the world are thought to comprise the ideal woman. This implies that women shouldn't behave in any way they deem fit and that doing so will not make them less respected.
Well, you need to wake up from your slumber if that's how you think. Thankfully, there are men who find these "unladylike" actions appealing and a welcome diversion from the typical lady.
The OP of today's story has a teenage daughter who isn't exactly a tomboy but does "boy" activities. OP's mom is pretty old-fashioned, and she made a comment the OP didn't like.
OP's daughter isn't doing a sport now, but she did a winter sport and a fall sport. Whenever OP's mom saw her coming back from basketball all sweaty and stuff, she would scrunch her face.
She would tell the OP that her being sweaty and nasty isn't a good "image." The OP waved it off until she said it directly to her daughter's face.
And here's the headline

OP's mom would scrunch her face whenever she saw her coming back from basketball all sweaty and stuff

OP told her to get on her phone and call someone because she sure wasn't staying here

OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the AH:
I might be the AH because i put my mother in an awkward situation over one word.
We've gathered some of the most upvoted comments from other Redditors for you to read through below

This Redditor believes the OP was right to shut her down

Girls should be able to pursue their own ideas and pursuits

The OP is being a great mom, according to this Redditor

The OP is being a shield for her daughter's heart

Most girls the OP's daughter's age doesn't wear makeup

The OP should keep standing up for her daughter

A lot of girls are not allowed to wear makeup at that age

Not only is the grandma's comments offensive and sexist, but they are also out of date. OP's daughter needs to hear that her mom is standing up to them and supporting not just her but also women in general.
The OP was commended for being a fantastic mother and her daughter seems to have a great supporter in the OP as there is no one correct way to be a girl or a lady. Eventually, the OP was declared not the AH.
