22 Intriguing Disney Fan Art Pieces That Show A Different Side Of The Magic Kingdom

Disney and its stories and characters have been huge parts of our childhoods and many other children across the world. And as children, we simply got lost in the magic of it all.

We weren't critical and we simply let the magic take us with the flow. That's what Disney does.

As we grew older though, we let our minds wander and we let our imaginations take over. Sometimes, this can be by making alternate endings for our fave films, and other times, it can be by imagining our favorite characters as entirely different people.

This is where fan art comes in. It's the perfect avenue for artistic Disney fans to get their own ideas out there into the world. As with everything though, not every fan art turns out as great as you'd expect them to.

Some images look like a kid just scribbled them up while others look like they've been done by someone who has a score to settle with Disney. All the same, every single one of them is intriguing.

Here are a few perfect examples. Some examples might leave you shaking your head in disappointment while others can actually leave your mouth hanging in astonishment.

Whatever it is, enjoy!

1. Savage Vanellope Von Schweetz

Vanellope Von Schweetz was known for glitching in Wreck-it Ralph so it makes sense that part of her face is gone here but the creepy thing she's riding on is far from the cutesy image she had going in the film. In fact, the artist seems to have Vanellope into some kind of warrior who is set out to destroy everything before her.

And we admit, it does look pretty cool.

2. Wolverine Mickey

There have been plenty of versions of badass Mickeys but this one so far has got to be our favorite. However, this Mickey Wolverine mix might not be friendly for the kids.

He'd be a perfect addition to a Marvel comic though.

3. Ariel rebels

If you're into seeing a more steampunk, gothic, rebellious kind of look on Ariel, then this is the fan art for you. The artist really didn't hold back and put Ariel through all the things most parents would consider an act of rebellion including shaving half her head.

4. Rapunzel has a score to settle

This Rapunzel is far from the sweet and joyous princess we know. This Rapunzel has been tainted by the cruelty of the real world and also of those around her and she's ready to settle her score.

This time though, she's not just going to wait for anyone to come to her aid. She's going to find her own justice by herself.

5. Mickey Mouse, the slayer of titans

Attack on Titans didn't really have that much of a kid-friendly story but it is a good anime and to put Mickey front and center in all of that is just amazing. Here, the mouse doesn't look joyful or cheery at all, no.

He looks like the mouse you won't want to mess around with.

6. Childhood gone

Lilo and Stitch and Mike and Boo were some of the sweetest pairings in Disney. They were so cute and innocent and now, they're not.

This image is going to be burned forever into our memories and we don't like it. This destroys the adorable image of these pairs that we've come to love so much and there's just something off about how they're all posed up.

7. Wish drunk genie

This is what genie would have looked like if he was playing for the other team. And if he were, we're pretty sure Aladin wouldn't have stood a chance.

Just look at how menacingly crazy genie looks here.

8. Disney drag race

A lot of us didn't see it before but the Disney princesses actually presented a perfect opportunity for drag art and now we have it. Now, these princesses can be models to every kid who wants to be a princess.

9. Ariel turns bad

In this picture, it's not Ariel who needs help anymore. It's actually Eric who needs saving from Ariel.

Who could have ever imagined Ariel as a pirate though, right? It's just brilliant if you ask us.

10. The menacing Ursula

If you thought Ursula was already terrifying before, then take a good look at this picture. This is the real evil Ursula who is ready to give you nightmares.

Imagine this Ursula with pirate Ariel though. That would have been something out of a Grimm's fairy tale instead of Disney for kids.

And we would completely watch that as adults.

11. Minnie trying out all the villain roles

Minnie has always been a sweetie but not for these pictures. As it seems, she's taking on all the female villain roles in the Disney world.

We're not gonna lie. We kind of like it.

12. "Drink me"

This fan art took a pretty dark turn with Hatter and Alice. The artist behind it turned Hatter into a perfect villain and put Alice in a spot where she might not ever make it out of Wonderland ever again.

13. Cinderella's obsession

This fan art seems to be a representation of what would have happened if Cinderella just didn't make it in time and lost her mind because of all the magic inflicted on her. It's a ghastly sight, that's for sure, and it might not be leaving our dreams anytime soon.

14. The bearded mermaid

We're not sure about you but we find this fan art absolutely hilarious. If Ariel did look like this, we think the film would have become a comedy and not a fairytale love story.

15. Sea monsters attack Rapunzel

We're not really sure where all the ideas for this picture came from but it seems like Rapunzel is getting dragged into the ocean by some kind of monster. Whoever created this must have some pretty vivid imagination because we really can't follow how it all came to that point for the poor princess.

16. Snow White x Jurassic Park

We don't think a lot of people have ever wanted to see a Snow White x Jurassic Park crossover and there's a good reason for that as proven by this fan art. There's just no coming to terms with a dinosaur being Snow White.

17. "I want to be a real boy"

The fairy godmother in Pinocchio always seemed so nice and sweet but what if all that was a front? Have you ever wondered that?

Well, here's a clearer image to help you visualize it. We got to say, it's pretty disturbing and completely puts a dent on the Pinocchio story.

18. Meerkat princesses

This meerkat Disney princess mix has got to be one of the cutest fan art concepts out there. They're just all so adorable and their characters still do continue to shine through their meerkat masks.

19. Prince Ariel

We love the idea behind this because love shouldn't be exclusive, right? And this gives a nice reimagining to the classic story that we all know.

20. Creepy Pluto

We could have gone our whole lives without seeing Pluto this way but now we've seen it and it has been burned into our memories. Now, it'll be haunting our dreams for a long time.

21. Snow White at her wit's end

Whoever drew this one must not have liked Snow White very much. Here, it looks like things didn't work out for her and she didn't get the happy ending she should have gotten.

22. Tigger gets hungry

Tigger and Pooh were the best of friends but they were still animals and when it comes to the laws of nature, one will always be bound to hunt the other. Still, that doesn't mean we needed to see the image of these two friends in that situation.

Couldn't Pooh just share some of his honey? Because this image of Tigger is really messed up.

The imagination of the people behind these fan arts is absolutely wild. Never in a million years would we have thought of some of these and we're kind of thankful for that because there are some images we don't actually want to remember.

Still, these people got talent and they should get the attention they deserve.
