Redditor Who Rents From Their Mom Wants To Uninstall Video Doorbell Because She Uses It For Spying
OP recently moved back to their home state after moving out at 18. They are renting their mother's rental house with their partner, and the house has video doorbells that record movement outside the front door.

OP's mother gave them access to the doorbell to use it as well, telling them that she never checks it and forgets it's even there. However, OP found out that their mother regularly opens every motion alert notification and checks the live feed constantly.
At 7 am, at 11 pm, etc. She is watching the live feed of the house. OP doesn't like this and feels it is an invasion of privacy, so they removed the device from the app, so it was no longer accessible.
They have recently found out that the mother created a new account and installed the device on that account that OP does not have access to. OP understands that this is their mother's house, so they are unsure if they would be in the right to bring this up to her or just flat-out uninstalling it.
This makes them uncomfortable, and they are uncertain if their mother is trying to hear conversations, catch them doing something she wouldn't agree with, or if she's just being nosy. OP is aware that bringing this up to her will result in a huge fight, so she asks what to do.

OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the asshole:
This Redditor says - go old school
Mom will show up instantly, thus opening an opportunity for a good conversation
Maybe OP should start saving money and making plans to move
Maybe a prank?
Looks like this Redditor has done this before

Overprotective parents of young adult kids face a unique challenge when it comes to parenting. On the one hand, parents want to provide their children with the guidance and support they need to make it through this tumultuous stage of life.
On the other hand, they also want to give their child the freedom to explore and make their own decisions. Finding the right balance between being supportive and providing enough space for their child to make their own mistakes can be hard.
Parents should learn to draw a line somewhere. But where?
