Did someone say surprise? Well, this comic artist named Will Santino has it in abundance.
This artist never fails to amaze his crowd with new and fresh thoughts that are both amusing and clever at the same time. He shared how he started making comics in the first place, and he said he began drawing cartoons during a troublesome time in his life, as he was handling grief that came from a loss.
"I am inspired by nature, stories, mythology, animals, and books. I like to add more silliness, wonder, whimsy, and absurdity into the world," Will added.
While growing up, Will was exceptionally influenced by books like Martin Handford's Where's Waldo and comics like Calvin and Hobbes and Little Nemo in Slumberland. Also, the covers of the fantasy novels he read, like Brian Jacques’ Redwall series.
"I love the illustrations of James Gurney and Shaun Tan, and historical artists like M. C. Escher and Hieronymous Bosch have been influential as well," says Will. However, the majority of these influences can be seen in his illustrations rather than in his cartoons.
His comics, which are, for the most part, one-framed, frequently portray ridiculous circumstances as well as a quote that truly takes his work to a higher level. Below are some of his best works.
