Talented Artist Illustrates Designer Shoes Inspired By Disney Characters And They Are Truly Perfect

Hailing from Pennsylvania, Becca Klein graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Film and Animation and went on to be an incredible freelance illustrator and artist. She is both a cat mom and a human mom who believes that "laughter is the best medicine."

It's not every day that a skilled artist illustrates a line of designer shoes inspired by Disney characters, so surely one would believe there's a source for that sort of inspiration. You would be correct, after all. Becca says:

"My favorite movie of all time is The Wizard of Oz which spawned a healthy infatuation with high heels and a two closet collection that supports the habit. I love old movies and classic musicals, wouldn’t mind if people spontaneously broke into song, and would read all day if I could."

The "Disney Soles" concept is actually broken up into multiple collections, with one for villains, one for princesses, and one for Disney characters that don't fall into the other two categories. However, you have to see them all to truly take in the depth and creativity it takes to create such fantastic designs.

If you are a Disney lover then you'll clearly see what pieces of the various characters were considered in each of Klein's phenomenal designs and if you didn't love shoes as much as she does before now, you probably will by the time you're done here today.

1. Yzma inspired shoe - The Emperor's New Groove

Yzma is the main antagonist of Disney's The Emperor's New Groove.

Her fandom wiki says it all:

"She is a hideous old woman who wants to usurp the throne by murdering her foster son Emperor Kuzco as revenge for him firing her as his advisor. She also has a strong, but rather dimwitted henchman named Kronk. She is also a rather diabolical, intelligent, and manipulative alchemist who concocts various potions and unguents."

2. Cinderella inspired shoe

Across the world, Cinderella has been determined to be the most popular Disney princess ever. At least, according to the majority of surveys conducted.

3. Dr Facilier inspired show - The Princess and the Frog

As the antagonist from The Princess and the Frog, Dr. Facilier is an "evil witch doctor/bokor and Lawrence's new employer who plans to rule New Orleans (and eventually, the entire world)" with help from his "friends on the other side".

4. Megara inspired shoes - Hercules

You probably know Megara as "Meg," from Disney's Hercules.

Meg is described as a snarky "femme fatale," who once served as a reluctant minion of Hades, to whom she was indebted. Stacey Nguyen wrote of Megara:

"Meg, wonderfully voiced by Susan Egan, is far from a role model or feminist icon. But she is one of the richest, most developed characters in Disney's library, one who we don't talk about nearly enough."

Disney's 1964 musical tale of a magical nanny features Mary Poppins, one of Disney's "most iconic and endearing characters. "

According to Gaston's villain wiki:

"He’s a treacherous, chauvinistic, egotistical, deceptive and conceited hunter from Belle's village, who was after her hand in marriage by any means necessary (regardless what she thinks about his offer)."

Walt Disney wanted to make the film Frozen 70 years ago but for decades the story was continuously pushed to the side.

That is until, of course, 2008 when Frozen finally took off faster than a moving glacier. It is one of Disney's most successful films ever, having earned over a billion dollars worldwide. Not only that, but the sequel, Frozen II, is the second most successful animated movie ever.

Perhaps those 70 years were worth every second, all things considered.

9. Charlotte inspired shoe - The Princess and the Frog

A flamboyant southern belle, the daughter of Big Daddy La Bouff, Charlotte La Bouff AKA Lottie is Tiana's best friend in The Princess and the Frog.

10. Lady Tremaine inspired shoe - Cinderella

Lady Tremaine is the ultimate wicked stepmother, although perhaps the Evil Queen who tried to murder Snow White would beg to differ.

After Lady Tremaine married Cinderella's father, he passed away. Lady Tremaine mistreated Cinderella and along with her two daughters squandered all of her late husband's wealth.

11. Giselle inspired shoe - Enchanted

After opening Thanksgiving weekend in 2007, Disney's Enchanted took the US by storm.

According to ScreenRant:

"The movie was designed to imagine what would happen if a Disney-esque animated princess was somehow transported into the real world. Along the way, a little bit of fun would be had at the studio's expense, in the form of a thorough spoofing of its animated movie conventions."

12. Scar inspired shoe - The Lion King

Scar, AKA Askari, is the younger brother of King Mufasa and the arch-nemesis of Simba in Disney's The Lion King.

13. Esmerelda inspired shoe - The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame features some of the most sincerely exquisite art in any Disney animated film.

As the deuteragonist of the 1996 film, Esmerelda, a Romani woman, is an "outspoken humanitarian." We couldn't put it any better than her wiki file:

"Esmeralda is verbally powerful, street-wise, cunning, positive and morale and smart. She was the sole individual in all of France to downright rebel against Frollo during his reign and was openly against the judge's accusations of claiming the Romani culture to be a gang of thieves who engage in unholy practices of witchcraft."

14. Jane Porter inspired shoe - Tarzan

Jane Porter is a charismatic ethnologist who travels to Africa to study gorillas alongside her father, Archimedes Q. Porter when she meets Tarzan.

15. Mother Gothel inspired shoe - Tangled

Tangled, based on the 1812 German fairytale Rapunzel by Brothers Grimm, features the villainous Mother Gothel who stole the princess Rapunzel when she was a baby so that she might use the magical abilities of the princess's hair to stay young forever.

16. Tinkerbell inspired shoe - Peter Pan

Since her inception, Tinker Bell has become one of Disney’s most popular and iconic characters and has even been featured as the spokesperson for Walt Disney pictures.

17. Merida inspired shoe - Pixar's Brave

Disney's Scottish Princess Merida was the protagonist of Disney - Pixar's 2012 film Brave.

Merida is the eleventh official member of the Disney Princess line-up after Rapunzel, and the first to originate from a Pixar film.

18. Hades inspired shoes - Hercules

Even in Disney's unique telling of Hercules's story, Hades is the ruler of the underworld. His interesting portrayal in the animated film has actually made him quite the fan favorite.

19. Ursula the Sea Witch inspired shoe - The Little Mermaid

Ursula's character as the villain in The Little Mermaid is indeed loosely based on the character of the same name in the Hans Christen Anderson story of The Little Mermaid.

20. Jafar inspired shoes - Aladdin

"Jafar is portrayed as a total psychopath who will not hesitate to eliminate anybody that he perceives as a threat to his own sinister designs."

21. Maleficent inspired shoe - Sleeping Beauty

Maleficent is responsible for all the trouble and misfortune in the kingdom of Sleeping Beauty's father, King Stefan.

Since her appearance in the classic animated tale, Maleficent has taken on a culture of her own with two live-action, feature-length films all about her!

23. Evil Queen inspired shoe - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Queen Grimhilde more than earned her name as "The Evil Queen," when she tried to have her stepdaughter, princess Snow White murdered just for being prettier than her.

24. Rapunzel's inspired shoe - Tangled

Kidnapped as a baby for the power of her magical hair, princess Rapunzel spends 18 years locked in a tower thanks to Mother Gothel before she leaves on an adventure with Flynn Rider.

The story Tangled is about the journeys of both Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. It is a movie for both of them, not one or the other.

25. Captain Hook inspired shoe - Peter Pan

Peter Pan's ultimate nemisis, Captain Hook is such a popular Disney villain that he even has his own movie, although the live action film starring Robin Williams isn't truly related to the animated Disney film from the 1950's beyond concept.

26. Princess Tiana's inspired shoe - The Princess and the Frog

Tiana is loosely based on the unnamed princess from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale The Frog Prince and the 9th Disney Princess in the official line-up. Interestingly, she is also "the most recent to originate from a traditionally-animated film."

27. Cruella De Vil inspired shoe - 101 Dalmatians

"Cruella is one of the most iconic and well-known Disney Villains and is a primary member of the franchise, she is remembered for her unique name, extravagance, and obsession - practically a worship - of fur."

For being a villain ready and willing to have over 100 puppies slaughtered for a coat, it's amazing that Cruella De Vil has inspired her own live-action film starring the gorgeous Emma Stone.

Disney's animated film Mulan is one of the more popular movies among Millennials, but the movie did not actually do very well at the box office.

Still, Mulan is one of the coolest Disney princesses and characters ever and the only one with a body count. Her live-action film was highly anticipated but was met with mixed reviews.

29. Princess Aurora's inspired shoe - Sleeping Beauty

"Aurora is a kind, elegant, graceful, angelic, loving, and gentle person as well as a hopelessly romantic one."

"One of the most noteworthy things about Sleeping Beauty is just how simply gorgeous the animation is. When one watches it, it’s almost as if one is watching a stained glass or Renaissance painting brought to life.

There are such beautiful colors and stylized designs to the movie that it takes the breath away. Pocahontas was released on the 400th anniversary of Pocahontas's birth year, as although the exact day and date is unknown, she is believed to have been born in 1595. The film was released in 1995.

Over 30 incredible shoes were designed after inspiration from unique Disney characters. You can't deny it takes a lot of time and creativity to pull such a feat off, especially with such elegance as what Becca Klein did!
