Life is filled with a lot of uncertainties. However, in the middle of all these uncertainties, there are certain things society expects almost everyone to do and phases it expects everyone to pass through.
These things have now been regarded as the norm even though no law states that people must do them the specific way the majority does it.
The fascinating part is that these things range from minor decisions that may not matter in the long run, to huge ones that could change the trajectory of a person’s life forever.
Yet, people do them without much thought. So much so that they have become ingrained in society’s mappings of an individual’s life.
However, with the increasing availability of information and a more inquisitive younger generation, people are gradually revolting against some of these normalized things.
We found a Reddit thread filled with people taking a stand and refusing to do these things that society has normalized.
It all started with a question by a Redditor with the username fuzziblanket. OP asked, “What is something considered normal by society that you refuse to do.”
The post went viral, garnering 10.6k upvotes and over 9k comments, with different people speaking on various topics. Scroll down to read some of these fascinating responses.
