No matter how much you hate your job, getting fired for no reason still remains one of the worst things anyone could go through. The loss of livelihood is difficult to replace and can lead to some terrible consequences.

It's particularly infuriating when you unexpectedly get fired over something you have zero control over, so there's really nothing you could've done to prevent that from happening. Life is unfair, so things like this shouldn't shock people anymore.
