Teacher Shares A Video Explaining That Their Duties Don’t End When The Bell Rings

If you want to destroy a nation, just destroy its education. Without good doctors, engineers, craftsmen, artists… that country won't have a future.

But people keep forgetting that, and the educators don't get the credit they deserve. There's no denying that teachers hold the key to our future.

They are an essential part of shaping us into the people we are today and laying a foundation for the rest of our life. We all remember at least one of our teachers.

However, not everyone appears to appreciate the time and effort educators put into us and our children. Katie Peters, a high school English teacher, has a powerful message for them.

She says that she has spent "every waking moment of the last 20 years trying to get my students to see the power of their own worth and believe in their ability to make their own dreams become a reality.

I read online in a community forum the other day, in regards to my district going back in person: 'Oh, it's nice the teachers have decided to work again.' And I felt something inside me shatter," Katie said in a TikTok video which has now gone viral.

So she not only broke down what things exactly she did in a day at work, which feels overwhelming just listening to them, but explained how selflessly educators are willing to go above and beyond for the kids.

Yeah, teachers deserve praises, even though they don't ask for them. With what they are paid, it is obvious that there is a lot of love for the job involved.

They are certainly not in it for the money. Many people don't understand how demanding and challenging that job is.

They don't just teach stuff from books. They are also friends, confidants, social workers.

Every kid in their class brings different problems and stories. And they are all in that special and delicate age when every word and advice has to be well weighed and analyzed.

And that takes a whole lot of time and effort. So, here's to all those wonderful educators.
