Target Extends Their Products For Special Needs Kids To Include Diversity

Recently, our love for Target has grown even further as they continue to broaden their products to be inclusive of everybody. The line called Cat & Jack has extended its clothing range to be available for kids who have special needs and can benefit from adaptable clothing.

Usually, these kinds of clothes are made to be adaptable for adults or seniors who need the help, and the very few choices for special needs children have been limited.

For some kids, taking clothes off and on can be a real struggle, and there is also a need for clothing that doesn't get stuck in a wheelchair!

Target has definitely stepped up with its 40 pieces to chose from and sizes ranging from toddler to XXL.  These products are stylish and there are also items made specifically for kids with sensory sensitivities.

Target approached the line by meeting with kids and parents and discovering what would make their lives easier through the clothes they wear. The adaptable range includes footless pajamas, tee shirts without tags, and comfortable leggings.

The options are sensory friendly and special, the ultra-soft material was used in making the garments. Seams were altered to be flat and tags were a no-go, as these can be a real issue for kids with autism or ADHD who can be oversensitive to clothing that irritates the skin.

Some of the clothes even have access in the abdominal area for those that need feeding tubes. More access to backs and sides are available to make the act of getting dressed a lot easier. There are also clever uses of side openings and removable sleeves, plus thumbholes in the cuffs for those that can't wear gloves.

There are a lot of parents to these kids that know all too well the struggles of getting dressed and undressed every day and needed a solution to make the process a lot easier. Reversible pajamas can be worn with the zipper in the front or back to eliminate naughty fingers unzipping in the middle of the night.

Target has also recently shown how inclusive they are with their clothing by releasing a plus size range of swimsuits. Models were proud to wear the items and encourage positive body image.

There are millions of kids whom will be assisted with this new adaptable range, and pictures of kids wearing the items and showing how they are worn are available to view on the Target website.
