A study found in Scientific Reports even shows that there might be pet geniuses among dogs. During the experiment, 40 dogs went through a demanding three-month program, a period considered to be the minimum needed to determine if a dog can recognize the differences among objects.

Lessons were conducted every day, which included playing with the dogs while mentioning the names of the toys repeatedly. Dog participants of different ages and breeds came from various parts of the world.

At the end of the experiment, scientists discovered that a small number of canines achieved better results than the rest of the pack. These dogs were able to recognize 13 to 39 names at a faster pace within the duration of the experiment.

The rest didn't learn anything at all. In-betweens were also hardly present.
