Dogs are a common sight in most neighborhoods, out for a walk with their owner. As the weather heats up, it's important to be aware of how hot it is too hot for dogs walking outside.
The temperature your dog can take largely depends on its size. Larger dogs need to be checked more frequently than smaller ones.
According to experts, if the temperature is 70 degrees Fahrenheit (about 21 degrees Celsius), playing outside is less dangerous for small- to medium-sized dogs. Larger dogs can still play outside at this temperature, provided they are supervised.
Always provide water and ample shady spaces for your dog when the temperature is hotter outside. Know the best times for your dog to be indoors
If they do their afternoon naps outside, monitor them. Dogs can sleep so deeply that, if they don't get up, they might overheat.
As long as you monitor your dogs during the hottest times and do what's best during the moment, it shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, some neighbors can be meddlesome with pet owners who allow their dogs outside during warmer days.
A middle-aged woman shared a situation she was in with the "Am I The A**hole?" (AITA) community on Reddit. She mentioned that she tried being friendly when she saw her neighbor walk their two dogs while it was hot outside.
But her actions during the said situation say otherwise. So it's no wonder why redditors are telling her off.
The woman describes the temperature the day she saw her neighbor walking his dogs.
Wild-Gain9257Just look at how rude she is.
Wild-Gain9257Of course he would snap.
Wild-Gain9257This is her way of "trying to be friendly."
Wild-Gain9257Did she not realize how rude she was?
MaybeAWalrusThe woman gets bashed for still trying to defend her attitude despite being in the wrong.
Electrical-Date-3951She was wrong from the very beginning.
KhaleesiXevThere's no way the OP is being friendly. She scoffed after all!
DragonCelicaMaybe she just wants validation that she's superior in the situation, which she isn't getting from the community.
DragonCelicaWe hope she does reflect on her actions after getting criticized.
imyournigerianprinceShe really is looking for validation, isn't she?
unpopularcryptoniteThe responders are in disbelief.
th3drdonna, Scotsgit73Dogs still need exercise even if it's hot outside.
SeliphraEven other people would take their dogs outside when it's hot. They just do something about the heat to make the walk bearable for their beloved pets.
diagnosedwolfYelling isn't being friendly.
5catterbrained, A-Golden-FrogReasons why she's TA.
StonewallBrigade21More reasons why she's TA.
StonewallBrigade21She should've chosen her words carefully.
the-dumbest-owl, GladObject2962It makes us wonder too.
stacitySeventy degrees is the normal temperature in this guy's area.
Easy-Consequence1508Redditor thinks the OP is being like Abe Simpson.
FoxThis Redditor is right. She should just mind her own business.
StAlvisExactly!
StAlvis, superdooperdutchThe dogs don't look distressed based on her story.
Boring_Possible_1938The OP's the one who started it.
Critical_Dark_2280Well, what do you think? In the end, everybody called the OP "the jerk" in this situation.
If she wanted to be friendly, she should not have reacted the way she did. The AITA subreddit was the second community she asked about what happened.
So it looks like she's only looking for validation for her actions.
