David Cubero is a VFX and motion graphics artist for ads, movies and animation, the Barcelona-born and based artist has been taking pics of his toy collection for years. His love for toys and photography has spanned over a decade (since 2009), he shares his work with all kinds of articulated figures on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.com.
David's creative and imaginative mind pictures what our heroes do when they're not saving somebody or being heroic. He plays around with toys, and takes pictures when he isn't rendering frames. The best thing about David's passion for photography is that it brings smiles to the faces of numerous Marvel enthusiasts.
For David, watching movies bring up ideas that provide jocular themes as scenes could serve as a great source of jokes. Just like when Captain America gave the shield to The Falcon right at the end of Endgame; that scene birthed some jokes on the developing relationship between Bucky and Sam.
He opines that coming up with uniquely interesting photos is quite simple just like planning out with his collecting, according to him, "It's simple, on a quiet Saturday afternoon with my kids and a table full of figures, suddenly I pose a figure in a peculiar way and there’s an interesting photo. Like that one of the Alien and the piano or Thanos skateboarding."
He explained further that, "The one with Thanos and the skateboard went viral because Josh Brolin made skateboard movies when he was younger, so he uploaded it to his stories on Instagram." "It's funny when these kinds of coincidences happen!" He added.
He loves toy photography so much that he's been at it for more than 10 years. Keep scrolling, let's treat you to an excellent collection of his photographs – they'll blow your mind.

Jack Kirby, Jon Buscema, Steve Ditko of the 'Classical Marvel Comics' are an unending source of inspiration for David. According to him, he revisits them whenever he runs out of ideas.
His admiration for Bill Watterson and the lines in his comic strips serve as a great reference for jokes. Like any spectacular graphic artist, David looks into how the special effects in movies are made, no wonder his work is exceptionally amazing.
"In toy photography, my favorite artist is Avanaut, he makes exquisite photos and I think that everybody who is in this toy photography thing is a big fan of his work," he added.

According to David, "My personal favorites are the ones about the love and hate relationship between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. It's very funny to see them being friends or angry with each other. In general, I love recreating their daily lives."
David thinks some concepts will amuse Marvel cinephiles: it'll be fun to see Black Panther act like a cat at home, or how hilarious it gets anytime the Avengers try to hold it together when dealing with Hulk's anger. Well, he's got favorites though, just like any normal Marvel fan out there – "the ones with Vader and the Emperor having a fun time".

Perhaps, you've wondered how David comes up with these amazing photos, he works with his Sony Alpha Camera and 90mm macro. Using Lume Cube lights and a vapor (at times) to create foggy scenes. So how does he produce this much awesomeness from mere toys: for special effects and action scenes, he uses crackers and little fireworks, for scenes, he 3D prints props sometimes or buys dollhouse furniture.

For David, it's mostly about having fun, and trying to put smiles on people's faces. He does his best to bring some laughs to their timelines. Aside from that, he loves to collaborate with toy brands, he's even made successful solo exhibitions years back with a few noteworthy workshops in Barcelona.
It was a great experience for the graphic artist when one of his pictures was selected and exhibited at a French museum, the 'Musée de l'Homme' in Paris.
In his own words, "Toy photography made me have some nice experiences and I hope more will come in the future. Maybe I would like to make another exhibition with my new work in the future, hope it comes soon!"
