Lady Refuses Drink From Stranger In Bar, Bartender Accuses Her Of "Insulting Regular Customer"

We've all been there, ladies. While you and your friends are at the bar, a guy approaches you and offers to buy you a drink.

Occasionally, if your life is like the movies, it's someone incredibly attractive and whom you might genuinely have interest in. But in reality, it might be a creepy person you really don't want anywhere near your drink or a guy winking at your group of friends.

Rest assured, you don't owe him anything just because he bought you a drink. However, you can always end things amicably by saying no, even if the person might consider it quite disrespectful.

The OP went on a work trip, and on the last night of the trip, her boss and a couple colleagues went down to the hotel bar to have a couple drinks and discuss. Then the bartender comes over and asks the OP if she would like a shot.

Apparently, a regular customer really wanted to buy her a shot, but the OP refused. This is because she didn’t want to take shots in front of her boss.

This bartender related back to the guy, and it really upset him. The bartender returns only to the OP, saying that he should feel bad because he “might never come back."

The OP was taken aback as she believed she wasn't wrong, but you can read the full story below and decide for yourself.

OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the a-hole:

I refused a free shot from the stranger and I might BTA because it would’ve been easy to accept and not hurt his feelings.

I just felt so crazy because the bartender was making me feel terrible about it and some of the other people there were telling me I could’ve just accepted it.

Apparently, many Redditors considered the bartender to be an AH. In any situation, as a bartender, you should never force a drink on someone who didn't want one, and if a regular customer was that unhappy, you should be okay losing them.

The OP was declared not the AH and you can share this story with your loved ones to get their own opinions as well.
