If it's possible for Disney fanatics all over the world who have artistic abilities to ever stop creating incredible Disney fan art, I certainly hope it's not within my lifetime or any time soon. Disney fan art is one of the coolest and most exciting things to happen to Disney fans and that's because it helps both the artists and the fans to relive the details and memories we have and love about our favorite Disney movies and Disney characters.
There are many reasons to love Disney fan art, and even if it takes you out of your comfort zone (because realistically, sometimes fan art definitely yanks you by the nape of your neck out of your comfort zone and deep into "is this ruining my childhood zone,") but most of the time it's absolutely wholesome and heartwarming. Such is the case with the art that Disney fan Christy Tortland has been creating for over a decade.
A a freelance illustrator and writer from New England, Christy says she is strongly influenced by "mythology, classic sci-fi and fantasy, and strong, amazing ladies." She also says:
"I create illustrations and comic art with the intent of creating dynamic, inspiring characters with a story behind each of them."

christytortlandChristy is an artistic of many trades. She has a BFA in Illustration from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University as well as an MFA in Creative Writing for Children at Simmons College.
She says:
"Along with being an illustrator, I am also a writer, both ghostwriting for clients and working on multiple novels, as well as one graphic novel script. Because one novel just isn't enough, clearly."
Christy may joke, but her work is really wonderful and we think it's fantastic she's continuously putting her heart into more art whether it be written or illustrated. Her Disney and Marvel fan art is distinct and unique, and that's always something to appreciate when it comes to Disney fan art.
