People who live in a mixed family complain about a lack of privacy most of the time. Another issue with living in a joint family is that even minor decisions must be approved by all family members, notably the head of the family.

Living in a mixed family might make it challenging to make the best decisions for your child. However, there are various advantages as well.

All celebrate even minor accomplishments. And in times of adversity, your family is always there to support you.

A child raised in a large family is more social, but he also has a habit of sharing. Growing up in a joint family instills the practice of sharing.

Not really, its fine to do these little selfish things when living in a joint family.

OP's brother in law is a hypocrite and he is just selfishly trying to save some money.

Clearly no one seems to be respecting you so you do the same and keep your things to yourself.

Yes, it is a little evil to be going around and policing the food but it is quite justified in this case.

It was just a trick to the husband doesn't not have to spend money when they can get it for free by stealing from OP's office.

It is not a good habit to take something someone else has brought, especially without permission. It shows the lack of manners and etiquettes and sheds light upon the person's upbringing.
