With this all being said, we are diving into a post today that was submitted by a woman who wants to know if she's in the wrong for smoking in her backyard after her neighbor complained that she was exposing her kids to the smoke. There are boundaries when being neighbors, but you're also on your own property.

OP's post was pretty straightforward and she seemed honest in the way she explained things to happen while not knowing if she's in the wrong.

She adds in an edit to explain why she doesn't smoke other places as some in the comments have suggested.

Some people said that it's her house and her yard so she should be able to do whatever she wants there.

It seems like other people think that things should've been handled a different way by both of them.

This person puts their perspective out there and quite a few people agreed with the way that they saw this situation.

Technically OP has rights, but also there is a limit and boundaries that may need to be set for those with close property lines.

Past smokers or even current smokers began commenting and explaining their point of view on it and what the neighbors might be experiencing.

Many agreed that the smoke will travel far and there is a huge chance that the neighbors can smell it which means it is traveling there.

The problem of cigarettes in themselves is definitely being brought out in the comments here as people explain their points.

The comments saying that she can essentially do whatever she wants on her property are true though, so her neighbor can't do anything about it.

This comment said it pretty well and we definitely think they could be right.

Again, everyone seems to be on the same page with their opinion and how it's seen.

Ultimately, there are a lot of different things that play into this, and the legality of cigarettes and smoking them on one's property shows that there's nothing OP's neighbor can do.
