Our narrator (OP) explained that she had just returned to her parent's house from her overseas work trip. This was her sanctuary, where she spent some quality relaxation time with her boyfriend.

In addition, OP makes sure to contribute to bills, groceries, and even house chores. All of which are highly appreciated by her parents.

One thing to note is that OP is a heavy smoker. And over time, she has maintained an understanding with her parents about her habit when she's in their home.

However, her routine was disrupted upon her return when she discovered her pregnant sister and BIL would be moving in temporarily.

With the arrival of OP's pregnant sister came an explicit instruction from her parents: No smoking around her! For someone who smokes habitually, and given that the house wasn't the largest, this rule was inconveniencing to OP.

On a particularly hot day, OP was itching to indulge in her daily smoking routine. She picked up a vape and went straight into the garage to smoke.

While enjoying her vape, her BIL was drawn to the smoke that was coming out of the garage door. He decided to follow the smoke straight to where OP was doing her thing.

To OP, his presence wasn't much of a threat, but little did she know that he had gone to report the incident to the rest of the family. Almost immediately, BIL left; OP's dad stormed in angrily and asked her to leave his house.
