Reddit User Asks If He's A**hole After He Gets Reamed For Wearing Short Shorts To Gym

Gym etiquette is an interesting concept and one that is seldom a problem unless someone makes it one. And that's precisely what's happened to Reddit user u/bothonpele.

The Redditor recently shared his story in the r/AITA (Am I The A**hole?) subreddit. He explained that he's a "big guy" who works out daily and attends three different gyms regularly.

The OP says he wears short shorts to the gym. He has even affectionately nicknamed them "ranger panties."

The Redditor says it's not unusual for him to attract attention for his shorts, but generally, it's from older men who just roll their eyes. It's not usually an issue, and the OP has been wearing the shorts for years.

But recently, a woman joined the OP's gym and she has become obsessed with his legs. Every time she sees him, she walks over to talk to him.

It wasn't a big deal for the OP until one day the woman's husband was with her. The husband wasn't happy and had a "mental breakdown" over his wife talking to the OP.

He went over to the OP and told him his shorts were inappropriate, to which the Redditor responded by asking him not to objectify him for "being beautiful." That made the husband very mad.

The gym staff had to get involved, and they asked the OP to cover up for a little while. So, the next day, he wore even smaller shorts with a long-sleeved shirt.

The woman's husband lost his mind. When the staff came over to intervene, the OP reminded them he had been dressing like this for years.

He also pointed out that many women wear a lot less clothing to the gym, and it doesn't seem to be a problem. The OP said he would not be changing anytime soon.

Now the OP is wondering if he's the a**hole here. Keep scrolling to see how people reacted.

What are your thoughts on this situation? Do you think the OP should cover up more at the gym, or is he entitled to wear whatever makes him feel comfortable?
