Celebrities tend to be in the spotlight every day and of course, they seem to be rich and have all the money. Many of us might assume that they got rich and well known because of their music, roles that they play in movies, or the booming businesses that they created.

Either way, it's safe to say that we might not know as much about these celebrities as we think we do. Surprisingly, some of the parents of our favorite celebrities were famous or owned huge businesses which is where the money came from.

There's a saying that goes something like it isn't about what you can do but it's about the people you know. Sometimes, you just need to know someone that's in the industry. We talk about everyone from Nicki Minaj to Bradley Cooper.

You might be very surprised to hear that some of our favorite celebrities actually grew up poor and they have made a living for themselves that is completely opposite of what they grew up in. Let's take a look at some of these awesome stories that tell where our favorite celebrities came from.

Hilary Swank: Self-made

The actress grew up in a trailer park in Washington.
