Many pets have more than one owner, cats are kind of popular for that, they can sometimes have many families at the same time. They spend time with each family equally and no one ever suspects anything, and it’s scary how subtle and casual about it they usually are.

Besides that, many people share pets without necessarily living together, each person gets their time with the pet and all the responsibilities are shared between the two people. It is kind of a shared custody arrangement for people who do not have the time to take care of a pet full time.

Such arrangements are sometimes made spontaneously and without requiring any planning, those are the best kind since they are unexpected. People and pets get drawn to each other and they form a special bond that makes them want to spend way more time around each other.

The story is very wholesome and both parties are perfectly okay with sharing the lovely Jade, so it's a win-win situation.
