A baby shower honors the impending arrival of an adored newborn boy or girl. The expectant mother's loved ones get together to offer their support and affection.

Refreshments, games, and several thoughtful presents are typically provided during the occasion to make sure the expectant parents have all they need for their child. People tend to host a baby shower well in advance of the baby's arrival.

Normally, baby showers usually start between weeks 28 and 32 of pregnancy. This gives mom plenty of time to prepare the nursery with thoughtful gifts from loved ones before the baby is due.

OP's husband has a brother who had a baby a couple of years ago, and they threw them a baby shower funded by OP's husband and his other siblings. They went all out, and it was pricey, but it was fine, considering the bill was split between the siblings.

Now, OP's BIL is having another baby and mentioned they would like another shower, which means they expect them to foot the bills. OP mentioned that her BIL has never held or hosted a get-together where he’s footed the bill, except for their child’s first birthday, which was held at a public place.
