With everything we've seen on the internet, there aren't many things that can shock us anymore, especially when it comes to animals. We've seen videos of the biggest and most dangerous animals out in the wild acting all sweet and playful, and the cutest animals being fierce AF.
However, there will always be a first for things to be witnessed on the internet, and I think it's safe to say that this encounter is definitely a first. These two huge sea lions, IDed by commenters as Steller seal lions, proved to us that they're nothing but big playful puppies in this hilarious footage.
The video captured by Joshua Phillips, a retired soccer player, shows two gigantic creatures with the unprecedented idea of relaxing on someone's boat. And Phillips managed to capture this on camera while out on a boat to relax with some friends in Eld Inlet, near Olympia in Washington.
Phillips thought it was just going to be a regular trip to have some fun with his friends until something unusual caught their eye. Out of all the things you could expect to happen, seeing a couple of sea lions sailing by on a boat is probably the most shocking one.
Apparently, the two massive animals decided to hijack a boat and go for a peaceful ride around the lake. Keep scrolling to see it for yourself.
Just a coupla bros, chillin'

giphyWhy are they called sea lions?
Britannica says:
"Sea lion, any of six species of eared seals found primarily in Pacific waters. Sea lions are characterized by a coat of short coarse hair that lacks a distinct undercoat.
Except for the California sea lion (Zalophus californianus), males have lion-like manes and constantly roar to defend their harems (hence their name).
Unlike the true, or earless, seals (family Phocidae), sea lions and other eared seals (family Otariidae) are able to rotate their hind flippers forward to use all four limbs when moving about on land. Sea lions also have longer flippers than true seals.
Sea lions feed principally on fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods (squid and octopus), but they also will consume penguins. Breeding occurs in large herds, the males establishing harems of 3 to 20 females.
Brown pups are born after a gestation period of 12 months. Sea lions are hunted, though not on a large scale, for their meat, hides, and blubber."

giphyIt would be impossible without the video!
InstagramBig ol' puppers, it's science
InstagramBig animals do seem to have poor awareness of how *large* they are.
giphyLike a good neighbor...
InstagramI wonder how that insurance claim would go over...
giphyCheck out the video below!
It is obvious from the video above, but Steller sea lions are *massive.* Adult males may be up to 11 feet long and can weigh up to 2,500 pounds, while adult females may be up to 9.5 feet long and weigh up to 800 pounds.
These massive sea puppers are truly intimidating in their size, but also RIDICULOUSLY cute. I wouldn’t dare trying to pet one, but I would admire them from afar.
Talk about a one-in-a-lifetime thing to witness, so be sure to share this with your friends and family.
