Restaurant Owner Sets The Record Straight After Getting An Unfair 1-Star Review And Tells A "Karen" Not To Come Back

Restaurants used to rely on marketing to get the word out about how good their food is. It was the most reliable form of marketing then and it actually is still effective now.

Some of us still trust the recommendations of our loved ones when it comes to the newest and best food in town. Things have changed since then and we don't always have the time to ask several people where to find the best restaurant.

Luckily for us, the internet has the answer for our daily eating out needs. We now search online for food reviews to guide us to gastronomy heaven.

Who needs the Zagat guide when you can read Joe1987's review of the fusion restaurant downtown? Just kidding, we love the Zagat guide.

Online reviews are not always accurate when it comes to feedback. Owners and companies can hire people to pad their reviews with positive feedback to hide their less than stellar ratings.

Most of the reviews are also anonymous and can be made by anyone. Not all customers are honest about their experience and could be leaving a negative review out of spite.

It happens more often than you think and this restaurant owner handled the 1-star review like a pro. The customer thought they had them by the throat when they left the negative feedback but the owner's response shut that down quickly.

A staff from the restaurant shared a screenshot of the review and their boss's response to it:

The customer said the restaurant had to worst service she had experienced. She also implied the staff were clueless which the owner did not appreciate one bit.

You can read the owner's full reply below but that last line is the killer. "Please don't come back." Short, sweet, and brutal.

It's about time that restaurants begin standing up for themselves and their staff against customers who think waving their money around makes it okay for them to treat everyone like their servants

People in retail and food service do not get paid enough to be yelled at by rude customers who never bothered to learn good manners

If you made an honest mistake with your order, why not try asking the wait staff if they could replace it? Politely. It gets you places.

It's not far from the realm of reality for a customer to make mistakes. If you do, you can try behaving like a decent human and ask the staff for a replacement order politely.

The restaurant staff is there to provide you with a service but if you abuse your status as a customer, they also have the right to kick you out of their establishment. Don't be like Maddy who will go for a long while without a delicious hot dog.
