When you adopt a cat from a shelter, they will usually ask you to send them "update photos" to see how the cat is adjusting to its new surroundings and whether it is being cared for. Although each cat is unique and requires a unique approach to settling down, it all boils down to the amount of dedication, love, and sense of duty you put into the process.
What we have here is a compilation of before-and-after pictures of cats that were adopted from shelters, found on the streets, and in a variety of other horrific situations. The majority of the before pictures tell a story of heartbreak and pain, but fortunately, there is a happy outcome or, in this case, an after photo to demonstrate just how much of a difference a little bit of love can create.
The photos of these cats after adoption give people hope for the future of rescue animals in general, and we are confident that they would do the same for you. Adoptive parents from all over the world are posting pictures of their family cats before and after they were rescued and adopted to emphasize the importance of a good home for rescued cats.
1. No giving up
"When I was asked to take this girl, I was told the vet didn't think she had a chance. She was found on the highway, burned paws, emaciated, alone. After multiple vet stays, 24 hour care at my house, she went into rescue and was adopted! This is why I rescue/foster on my own. I won't give up!"

"I had alot of medical rescues and asked for help in assistance with kitten food. I was told to put her down and deleted my request bc people were so mean. Everyone else was vaccinated and protected. She was isolated. 2 hospital stays and shes fully recovered! I won't give up on rescue kittens."

u/abbyrareHey, Yato
u/abbyrareWe praise these adoptive families who are providing excellent care for their adopted cats because we believe we can all take lessons from them. We can all be a little friendlier, kinder, and more understanding.
Just imagine the pain stray animals feel when the person they believed was their life discards them at a shelter or in the middle of the street. Nothing is more saddening than abandonment, and these cats are well aware of it.
