Let's get one thing clear, for most people that may qualify as being a Redneck, being called a Redneck is not an insult. It's kind of a badge of pride. So when we say there is a comprehensive list of the most redneck cities in Florida, it's all in good fun! Besides, there's even a certified, dictionary definition of a Redneck! Check it out:
"A white person who lives in a small town or in the country especially in the southern U.S., who typically has a working-class job, and who is seen by others as being uneducated and having opinions and attitudes that are offensive."
When it comes to being a Redneck in Florida, they don't care how offended you are or how stupid you think they are, they're pretty proud of themselves. But since the concept of what a Redneck is classified as is pretty simple it's not hard to cram a little search work into the Internet and then determine which ten of the 206 Florida cities with less than 25,000 residents raise the Redneck bar. To be specific, though, this is the criteria that the experts applied to search appropriate cities featuring both the dictionary definition standards and the stereotypical standards:
1. Southern small towns with the least amount of high school graduates
2. Number of:
-Dive Bars Per City
-Mobile Home Parks Per Capita
-Guns and Ammo Stores
-Tobacco stores
-Nearby Wal-Mart, BassPro, and Piggly Wiggly.
Now just ask yourself one question: Is your hometown on this list?
1. Okeechobee
Population: Less Than 6,000YouTubeResidents of Okeechobee have taken the coveted title of "Most Redneck City in Florida" as if it was a badge of honor, if that says anything about the accuracy of this list! One resident found the whole thing amusing but confirmed nonetheless:
Dude I live in Okeechobee and that's true lol
-JoAnne
2. Clewiston
Population: Less than 8,0001059SunnyFMSince it rests on the southern banks of Lake Okeechobee, I suppose it's not unusual to see it rank in at number two! But residents of Clewiston are no less angry than the residents of Okeechobee were, it's all in good fun!
3. Arcadia
Population: Less than 8,000TribuneArcadia is pretty isolated from any large town which has made it pretty easy for Redneck culture to thrive.
