You Might Be A Redneck If You Live In One Of These 10 Florida Cities

Let's get one thing clear, for most people that may qualify as being a Redneck, being called a Redneck is not an insult. It's kind of a badge of pride. So when we say there is a comprehensive list of the most redneck cities in Florida, it's all in good fun! Besides, there's even a certified, dictionary definition of a Redneck! Check it out:

"A white person who lives in a small town or in the country especially in the southern U.S., who typically has a working-class job, and who is seen by others as being uneducated and having opinions and attitudes that are offensive."

When it comes to being a Redneck in Florida, they don't care how offended you are or how stupid you think they are, they're pretty proud of themselves. But since the concept of what a Redneck is classified as is pretty simple it's not hard to cram a little search work into the Internet and then determine which ten of the 206 Florida cities with less than 25,000 residents raise the Redneck bar.  To be specific, though, this is the criteria that the experts applied to search appropriate cities featuring both the dictionary definition standards and the stereotypical standards:

1. Southern small towns with the least amount of high school graduates
2. Number of:
-Dive Bars Per City
-Mobile Home Parks Per Capita
-Guns and Ammo Stores
-Tobacco stores
-Nearby Wal-Mart, BassPro, and Piggly Wiggly.

Now just ask yourself one question: Is your hometown on this list?

1. Okeechobee

Population: Less Than 6,0001. OkeechobeeYouTube

Residents of Okeechobee have taken the coveted title of "Most Redneck City in Florida" as if it was a badge of honor, if that says anything about the accuracy of this list! One resident found the whole thing amusing but confirmed nonetheless:

Dude I live in Okeechobee and that's true lol

-JoAnne

2. Clewiston

Population: Less than 8,0002. Clewiston1059SunnyFM

Since it rests on the southern banks of Lake Okeechobee, I suppose it's not unusual to see it rank in at number two! But residents of Clewiston are no less angry than the residents of Okeechobee were, it's all in good fun!

3. Arcadia

Population: Less than 8,0003. ArcadiaTribune

Arcadia is pretty isolated from any large town which has made it pretty easy for Redneck culture to thrive. Their high school drop out rate is a whopping 1 in 3 and they rank 4th in the entire state of Florida for most gun and ammo stores per capita. Nice job, Arcadia!

4. Starke

Population: Less than 6,0004. StarkeAirsoft-squared

Starke is the perfect Florida location for Rednecks who like to fish and hunt. So basically, all Rednecks, right? They're overwhelmed with opportunities to buy guns and go lake fishing, so that's what they do in Starke!

5. Inverness

Population: Less than 8,0005. InvernessDailymail

Not only does Inverness have plenty of opportunities to fish or live in mobile home parks, they've made themselves nationally global when a popular gun supply store created a "Muslim Free Zone." With a population almost exclusively white in a small Florida town, it's no surprise they nail the Redneck thing.

6. Quincy

Population: Less than 8,0006. QuincyMiami New Times

Plum smack right up in the panhandle where Florida and Rednecks go hand in hand is Quincy. If you're looking for a place to fish, buy chewing tobacco, or a Wal-Mart to stop at, or a very wide variety of bars to choose from then you'll find Redneck Heaven in Quincy.

7. Brooksville

Population: Less than 8,0007. BrooksvillePinterest

I'd say congratulations are in order for this town, as it is considered the smartest Redneck town in Florida with the highest graduation rate on the list. Residents here are also known to love hunting wild hogs, which definitely falls in line with Redneck culture.

8. Perry

Population: 7,0008. PerryWikiMedia

If you doubt for a second that Perry may not belong on this list then I urge you to consider this:

If you take a quick search through Urban Dictionary, the four top keywords that are associated with Perry are ‘fishing’, ‘hicktown,’ ‘hunting,’ and ‘redneck.’

9. Westville

Population: Less than 7,0009. WestvilleTrip Advisor

Loaded with mobile home parks and ranking 3rd in the state of Florida for the most tobacco stores per person, Westville certainly belongs on the great list of Redneck cities. Don't worry, there's also plenty of bars to go to and places to fish from.

10. Mascotte

Population: 5,10010. MascotteWikipedia

Ringing up the rear end of the Redneck list, don't underestimate Mascotte. They're high school drop out rate is still 1 in 3 and there is still just as  many fishing opportunities as a Redneck could need. As well, you have enough opportunities to buy guns, though maybe not as many as other options on the list.
