Choosing a college is a huge decision for many students. Some students even know the college they want to attend right from the moment they know there’s such a thing as college.

This is because many believe that this singular decision will determine the rest of their lives, so they put a lot of effort into making it.

They make plans and set their grades in motion for them to get into their dream school as early as possible.

Unfortunately, going to college is too expensive for some people, and without a scholarship or in-state tuition, they can’t afford it.

One Redditor shared that his daughter tried to get ahead of this and asked him if she could move in with him to get access to in-state tuition, but things didn’t go as planned.

Although OP’s daughter fell in love with a school close to him and wanted to take advantage of the close proximity, his response to her request to move in with him was a “no.” He told her this was due to lack of space, even though he lives in a two-bedroom condo with one room serving as an office his wife barely uses.

OP’s daughter then decided to choose a college across the country, which worried him as he felt the distance was too much.

He then turned to the court of Reddit to share their two cents. Scroll down to see what they thought!
