We all love to see our favorite celebrities wear gowns, tuxedos or just glammed up during a grand event after a successful movie or single or such. Red carpet outfits just mean a lot in the world of lights, cameras, and fame.
The red carpet moment is one of the chances where celebrities get to garner attention to the public’s eye and the most important thing of all – wearing a fashion designer’s piece of art. Whenever it is time for the Met Gala or Oscars or etc., one of the buzz’ centers of attraction is in these celebrities’ #OOTD or, should we say, #GOTD (Glam of the Day).
Yes, our celebrities and fashion designers can slay it well when they arrive at the venue, some even perform while walking on the red carpet, but for sure, they have gone through so much just to achieve that fashion performance on the day.
We, viewers and fans, might not see it well, but it’s a work of art and a team effort from the celebrity to the fashion designer just to create a look that will continue to razzle and dazzle throughout the night.
Here are 11 red carpet outfits with interesting backstories you never knew until now!
1. My hair, my say; my dress, my way. Hayden Panettiere may have had a bad time with her fashion designer and brand as she wore the dress she liked (and bought) during the Golden Globe Awards.
She specifically wanted to wear Tom Ford’s design, but the brand representatives didn’t go by her interest. Our girl bought a side-split monochrome dress with a spaghetti strap halter neck and just slayed the day.

Source6. Selena Gomez stunned her look during the Hollywood Beauty Awards, but poor soul, she could not eat or even lift her cup to drink water because of a fashion situation. Her beautiful blush pink Patou off-shoulder dress was too down on her arms which did not allow her to eat.
Source7. As badass as her role gets, so did Keira Knightley’s dress before walking on a red carpet. During an event way back in 2005, her dress got ripped from the bottom to top, but thankfully, she always come prepared and changed her red carpet moment in just a flash.
Source8. Nothing beats a traditional solution. Kylie Jenner did rock her 1987 vintage Jean Paul Gaultier green dress during the 72nd Annual Parsons Benefit, but it was too small that her assistant sewed the dress for it to fit her body.
Source9. Bella Hadid’s 2017 Met Gala look stopped her from visiting the rest room because it was so tight. She wore a tight and crystallized body suit by Alexander Wang, and although she was rocking it, her bathroom break didn’t.
Source10. Lindsay Lohan looked like an angel in her look so much that she could not even afford to move a muscle, so its beauty remains.

Jon Kopaloff / Getty Images12. Fashion emergency! Anne Hathaway rushed her 2014 Met Gala dress by Calvin Klein because it ripped when she sneezed. Fortunately, there was help on the way so she still walked that red carpet in her beautiful custom-made red dress.
Source13. Kim Kardashian got the privilege to wear Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress (which is also one of the most well-known gowns from the 20th century) to the 2022 Met Gala, so her duty as a fashionista called. She had to lose 16 pounds in 3 weeks to achieve this look and she did it!
SourceDressing up and walking on the red carpet for a prestigious event is not a joke to be taken in the world of fashion. It takes serious loads of quick thinking and movement to save a look when a wardrobe malfunction arrives at the moment.
Kudos to the successes of these #GOTDs!
