The issue began when OP clarified to her mother that her boyfriend's daughter couldn't come to the wedding. The couple had planned to have a very small wedding with only immediate family members, including siblings, parents, and grandparents.

However, the mother's boyfriend had made it clear that if his daughter couldn't come, then he wouldn't attend the wedding. The mother has been acting like a "basket case" ever since, constantly requesting that her boyfriend's daughter be allowed to attend.

OP has repeatedly told her mother "no," but this hasn't stopped her from bringing drama to the situation. OP finally blew up and told her mother that her boyfriend has no right to attend the wedding anyway, given that he's made false claims about the user's fiancé being "controlling."

The mother's boyfriend himself is a controlling narcissist, and he makes OP and her fiancé uncomfortable whenever they're around him. The mother has continued to bring drama to the situation, claiming that if her boyfriend can't attend, then she won't stick around at the wedding for long, either.

She also mentioned that her grandfather likely won't attend either since he "doesn't have a ride" and "can't drive himself." OP has had enough of the drama and told her mother that if she's going to keep being dramatic, then maybe she shouldn't come to the wedding at all.
