The longest-reining monarch the United Kingdom ever had, her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, passed away on September 8th after her reign of 70 years and 214 days. Her time of reign was the second longest of any monarch in history, which is an incredible feat.

It's needless to say that she amassed considerable popularity during her 70-year-long reign and we doubt there's anyone out there who didn't know who Queen Elizabeth II was and the news of her death shook the entire world. She leaves behind a heartbroken family and a whole country of people mourning her death after spending their entire lives under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

The people of the United Kingdom mourned her death for days and the official national mourning lasted until the Queen's funeral, which took place on September 19th. Witnessing the carefully orchestrated plan surrounding the Queen's death was incredible.

It was beautiful to see how everyone acted according to plan even with countless hours spent acting out the procedure which was particularly demanding for the Queen's Guard. Gladly, it all went well and the plan was executed as it was supposed to be, which is nothing less than what the Queen deserved after 70 years in power.

One of the many things that the Queen leaves behind her is her loyal dogs which she loved and took care of for years. It was a known fact that Queen Elizabeth II adored dogs, especially corgis whom she called family.

There are plenty of photos proving this and even the royal biographer Ingrid Seward wrote: "She loves animals and absolutely adores dogs".

She left behind four dogs, 2 Pembroke Welsh Corgis (which were her favorite breed) Sandy and Muick, a Cocker Spaniel named Lissy, and a Corgi-Dachshund mix adorably named Candy.

It's quite clear that the Queen had a thing for corgis and we completely understand. Those little legs are the cutest thing ever and a Corgi-Dachshund mix is as adorable as it sounds.

There are photos of Queen Elizabeth II with her dogs throughout her entire reign which shows just how much she loved dogs.

The corgis always had a special place in the Queen's heart and it's shown by the fact that she owned more than 30 corgis throughout her 70-year-long reign. If that's not enough proof that she adored corgis then I don't know what is.

The Queen's first dog was a Pembroke Welsh Corgi who was gifted to her for her 18th anniversary. One of the many dogs she owned even played a role in a James Bond movie alongside the Queen, so it's clear that her dogs have many talents.

Many people wondered what would happen to the Queen's dogs after her passing and we have the answer for you. CNN reported that the corgis would be adopted by the Duke and Duchess of York, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

The reason for that is that Andrew was the one who gifted the corgis to his mother.
