Money. You’ve got to know how to control it or else it’ll control you.
People say it’s what makes the world go round. I mean how else are you going to survive in this materialistic world without money to buy food, provide shelter, and other things?
Money is essential, greed for it isn’t. If there are no cruel people who exploit others who are trying to do what they can to survive then everything would be more peaceful.
But it doesn’t work that way as bad as it sounds. Every day, sharks find new ways to take advantage of those who are naive.
So when the ‘naive’ people bite back and get their revenge, there’s a collective sigh of relief from those who can relate. Here’s a tale from a Redditor that would definitely pass as one of those stories.
OP went into business with a lawyer that his colleagues warned him about. They said he was bad news and he didn’t ignore them, he was aware but he still went and worked on a project for him.
After working for numerous weeks for this lawyer, he had a suspicion that he was going to try and take advantage of OP when the project was done. Good thing OP created a foolproof plan before presenting it to him.
Here's the original post of the Redditor
axelrafnOP described what he does in his line of work
axelrafnOP heard all of their warnings and was aware of it before he came in to business with the lawyer
axelrafnOP understood what the lawyer wanted and they drafted an official contract
axelrafnThe lawyer started to become demanding and was slowly taking advantage of OP's labor
axelrafnThe lawyer continued to turn down a lot of OP's pitch and hardwork
axelrafnHe tried to turn around the contract on OP and used it to his favor of speeding up the project
axelrafnAfter seeing the lawyer's personality upclose, OP decided to create the foolproof plan
axelrafnOP presented what was already done and ran it on his server
axelrafnThe lawyer didn't want to let OP notice that he was satisfied with the work
axelrafnHe made an excuse to have it transferred on his server but OP required for a downpayment. Soon enough, the lawyer emailed him proof payment and he uploaded the project onto his server.
axelrafnThe lawyer wasn't aware that OP already knew what he was up to and the payment was suspiciously fake
axelrafnHere's where the revenge comes in, if someone decided to remove OP from the system, it'll mess up with the database
axelrafnThis is what exactly what the lawyer tried to do and when he tried to lock out OP everything was deleted
axelrafnOP then continued to forward the crime of the lawyer with his fake payment to the authorities
axelrafnOP also received better payment when he sold the system one of the lawyer's competitor
axelrafnIn the edit, OP described the difference in the rules in the States and Europe, where he was actually from.
axelrafnPeople that already have a complete plan on how to screw someone who isn’t even making that much money in the first place
GarethD85This lawyer got too complacent despite the bad rep he’s getting
JohnjSmithsJnrGambling his license right there
Astronaut_ChickenIt’s a good thing OP isn’t naive enough to completely ignore the warnings
Montanapat89And then they try to get iron-clad loyalty by saying that they’re family
lesethxHere’s a little advice for those who companies categorize as young and naive

zyzzogetonIt creates this vision of them having a god-like complex
Cow_LauncherTheir assumptions are frustrating and they flip-out when they are proven wrong

froopUnfortunately, broken systems can never get fixed unless issues like these continue to prevail
hikingboots_allineedDon’t be like the lawyer, be like OP. OP essentially became the point man for the lawyer to be stopped committing the same crime.
People that are like this lawyer contributes to a broken system that takes advantage of more people and encourages bad people to do more bad things. It pushes the pedestal of where money sits even higher and creates more greed.
