Living with people isn’t always the easiest thing to do. However, it’s usually necessary.

Different people have different ways they do different things. From how they do chores to what they eat, people always have specific ways they like their things done.

When it comes to living in a shared space, it may be difficult to manage these differences because of the closeness in space.

Most times the best way to manage this may be to find ways to compromise. However, when the individuals living with each other can’t find a middle ground, conflict may arise.

We found one story on the AITA subreddit that paints a similar picture.

OP shared that he had recently taken over mortgage payments from his mother so she could move to another country and pursue her career. However, she is usually at the house on weekends.

One day when OP returned from work, OP asked politely that his mother stop putting her pads on the kitchen table.

His mother accused him of trying to shame her, and even when OP stated repeatedly that this wasn’t the case, she didn’t believe him and continued the accusations.

OP got upset soon and stated that he should probably move out and leave his mother to pay the mortgage. His mother’s response was, “fine.”

This led OP to bring the matter to the Reddit court, as he feels he may have overreacted. Scroll down to find out the verdict of the Reddit community.

"NTA it doesn't go in the kitchen. I mean, unless your toilet is in the kitchen"

A majority of the commenters believe that OP is NTA. This is because they believe period pads are meant for the bathroom, and shouldn't be anywhere near a kitchen meant for meals.

However, some believe OP should have just taken the pads to the bathroom rather than create a scene with his mom.
