Having a roommate is always difficult and ending things with a lease or roommate can be even more complicated.
We're back again with another post that was submitted to the AITA thread on Reddit. We've gone over many of these different AITA thread posts before because this thread is usually heavy with posts and so many people have tons of perspectives and opinions that they want to leave down below.
This thread is just the perfect place to get advice on a situation that you might not want to talk about your family or friends with. With this being said, we're looking into a post today submitted by a woman who wants to know if she's wrong for asking her roommate to pay her ten days' rent after not moving out/returning her key at the time that she said she would.
The roommate hasn't responded, and there seems to be no progression, but OP still wants to know if she's wrong for even asking for the 10-day rent. Some people might think it's ridiculous to pay for rent for 10 days, but others understand the severity of a roommate agreement like this and what each of them was expecting to pay.
So if you want to see the full post and a look into the best comments on the post as well, then keep on reading as we dive in and show you the full original post, plus some of the most popular comments.
We definitely feel like OP's NTA here but we honestly don't think that she's going to get any payment from her roommate. We think that she should just cut her losses and drop the roommate, agree to just move on.
How would you have reacted to your roommate doing this and not planning to pay you?
