Filing this under "animals that are a lot scarier than I originally thought"
Two animals tend to constantly pop up in stories about magic and witchcraft: owls and cats. Which might give one the impression that cats and owls are good friends—this story suggests otherwise.
Owls are birds of prey. They are excellent hunters, with the ability to swoop in a catch all kinds of small animals; anything from bugs, to mice and even fish!
They have super eyesight and hearing, which means that they are often the superior predator. Owls also have an incredibly spooky way of showing their dominance.
On the opposite side, cats are pretty well known for their hunting abilities and cats are definitely nocturnal (if the cats doing 2AM zoomies didn't suggest it....) Further evidence that cats and owls should be friends!
Alas, there is a video going around of a poor cat being the victim of an owl’s intimidation technique—check it out below. If you were this cat, wouldn't you be terrified?
I mean, can anyone hear Hedwig's Theme without crying?
I feel silly for not knowing this but like?!
