Couple Was Asked To Move Seats At A Restaurant In Order For A Larger Family To Sit There But They Refused

Welcome back to another Reddit post that was submitted to the AITA Thread that we love to look into so much. If you're new, then you might not know what this AITA thread is, but basically, it's a place where people can submit posts anonymously and ask if they are in the right or the wrong for how they reacted in a situation.

We enjoy going over these posts because they're usually really fun and entertaining to read when it comes to the situations people are in, plus, we love to look into all the perspectives of different people. With this being said, we are here to give you another awesome post that got a lot of opinions and a lot of perspectives thrown into it.

Today, we'll look into a situation that was submitted by someone who is looking to see if they're wrong for not moving seats when they were at a restaurant. Basically, this could be asked to move after a larger family sat next to them, but the couple was there first.

The details of this make it much easier to understand, and so we'll have to give you the full rundown in order to get an idea of what really happened and why this situation was so odd. Let's dive in.

OP started off by explaining the situation and the location of where they were at during this situation.

She goes on to explain that they sat at a larger table, but were the only ones there until a huge family of 7 came in.

Then she goes into details of what happened and why she ended up moving seats. Then she goes into saying that the mom started talking to them about moving tables.

She says that the family ends up moving to another table that opened up but it ended up causing a whole fuss with the woman and her family.

She says that they were taken aback by the way that she made them seem like they were in the wrong even though they were seated there first.

People immediately came to the comments and told her that she was not in the wrong and that the mom could have just controlled her kids in public to help make OP and her fiancé more comfortable.

It turns out that basically everyone is on the same page about this and that they are okay for how they acted. Ultimately, the mom could have moved or controlled the situation a bit better.

Soem people actually blamed the mom and family a lot for their actions and choices to go out to eat as a family. OP actually responded to this comment though and gave some perspective.

OP starts explaining how they feel and that they don't blame the family for wanting to eat together but maybe for a large family they should've done things different..

Ultimately OP and her fiance were there first and that's the biggest detail to pay attention to because truly this means that they don't need to move just because of someone else sitting with them.

OP replies to the comment above too and gives a bit more information and clarification on the situation as well.

Ultimately everyone says that OP and her fiance are not in the wrong and that the mother had a lot of other options to make sure that her family and the other guests were comfortable in their presence. So they were deemed NTA, and we have to agree with this because it definitely makes sense to us, and the mom could have accommodated everyone.
