Ultimately people come here for advice and looking for an unbiased opinion on the situation at hand. Today, we're looking into a teacher who offered to buy a kid a $3 toy after she saw his father being quite rude and denying him the toy.

Many people could have a lot to say about this situation and we hope that the right things are being done here by the father, but we understand that OP was just looking to do something nice for the kid. However, some people can argue that OP overstepped their boundaries.

His response was rude and OP tried explaining it to the cashier but she said she likes to stay out of it.

Starting off, the first comment stated that ESH because OP was out of line but also the dad was most definitely, clearly a jerk.

We know that OP's intentions were good but honestly this could have made things worse even for the kid.

The dad was clearly rude and has a lot of problems. OP should have probably tried to see how else they could help.

Ultimately, if OP at least got the kid to see that there was someone nice in the world then it was worth it.

Regardless of whether or not OP was in the wrong, we just hope this little boy is safe and taken care of. We know that OP had great intentions, but sometimes saying something can make things worse for you and also for the kid.
