Barbie Recently Revealed New Dolls That Are Inspired By Female Role Models And We Want The Whole Collection

All us girls have played with Barbie dolls and it was the most fun and precious time of our innocent childhood. Little do we know that Barbie has been providing dolls for little girls for 58 years and they are still going.

They wanted to switch things up a bit and to be able to meet society's needs they did a survey that was done by 8 000 mothers. Where 86% of the mothers were worried about the role models that their children were exposed to. To help prevent kids following the wrong role models they designed 17 new dolls after real life, empowering women.

"Girls have always been able to play out different roles and careers with Barbie and we are thrilled to shine a light on real-life role models to remind them that they can be anything," Lisa Mcknight, General Manager of Barbie said.

Although there are only three dolls so far they aim to build up to 17 in total. The dolls each come with information on how that specific woman shaped and helped society. The women are based on historical figures like Amelia Earhart the first woman to fly over the Atlantic Ocean, all the way up to modern day figures like Chloe Kim the Olympic snowboarder.

New additions have also been added to their Shero program that was started in 2015. It has honored a lot of history-making women like Misty Copeland and Eva Chen and they are busy honoring women in today's society that are making a powerful impact.

Obviously, the dolls are not everyone's cup of tea and many thought Barbie should rather retire.

They may have upset a few people and some of them have actual valid points. Regardless, Barbie is doing what they think will inspire girls to become the great beings that they can be. Keep going!
