Each and every US citizen has the right to own private property, which is enshrined in the Constitution. For instance, no one has the right to tell you what to do with your house and impose their preferences on you.
If someone disapproves of your house's appearance, they can express their opinion about it but can't do anything to change it unless it violates other people's rights. That includes paint color, decorations, outside furniture, and basically anything that people can see from the outside.
Homeowner associations often try to tell homeowners what they are and are not allowed to do with their homes. They harass anyone that refuses to conform to their rules until they finally crack just to have some peace of mind.
A Redditor who goes by the username u/nexttohoa made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where they explained how they were blamed for affecting the property values of his neighbors after refusing to conform with the HOA. The user got a lot of interesting reactions to their post; mostly all pointing out how ridiculous some homeowner associations can be.

Their reasons don't even make sense, and OP should take legal action against them if necessary. If you enjoyed reading this, make sure to check out similar content on our platform.
