Redditor Asks If She Is In The Wrong For Calling Out Her Short-Tempered Neighbor In Front Of Her Family, Leaving Them Shocked

The neighborhood can be a really good community where people help each other. But usually, people are self-minded and watch their own business, and that's also fine as long as they don't poke their noses into other people's business because it can provoke hostile relations in the neighborhood.

A Reddit user shared she was having problems with her neighbor, and she tried to talk with her multiple times, but as it was to no avail, she chose a different approach. The OP lives in a ground-floor apartment of a subdivided house.

The house next door is owned by a couple with children. The woman in that house is known for her short-tempered nature, often raising her voice at the OP and friends for various reasons while maintaining a serene behavior in her family's presence.

The OP said the husband looks friendly and is often absent from home. But one day, the OP encountered the neighbor, her husband, and two elderly people while gathering her mail.

The husband mentioned a water leak in OP's yard and seemed concerned. Seeing the usually aggressive woman behaving calmly in front of her family, the OP decided to confront her about her past offensive behavior and derogatory remarks.

The woman denied being the person the OP referred to. But the OP described the abusive woman's appearance and habits in detail, asking if she had a sister or a roommate, implying her resemblance to the rude neighbor.

The woman suggested that the OP should leave, which she did. Later, the OP heard heated arguments at the neighbor's house and thought she might have caused them to quarrel.

The OP wonders whether confronting the neighbor about her aggressive behavior in front of her family was inappropriate and if she was in the wrong for doing so.
