InternationalCow9466 took to the "AITA" subreddit to share an issue she's been having with her downstairs neighbors. She and her boyfriend have been living in the apartment since August, and they noticed that their new neighbors have been smoking marijuana inside their unit, causing the smell to seep into InternationalCow9466's apartment.
While she's not against smoking weed, she doesn't want her living space to smell constantly like it. To try and solve the issue, she left a note on the building door asking her neighbors to take their smoking outside or to a local park.
Unfortunately, they didn't care about her request and stuck the note back on her door. Over time, the situation only got worse. InternationalCow9466 even bought an air filter to make the situation more bearable, but the smell still lingered.
In addition, the neighbors were also causing other problems, such as letting their dog poop on the ground and having loud friends over at night. Eventually, InternationalCow9466 decided to speak with the apartment manager about the situation.
She feels bad about reporting her neighbors, but she had warned them in the note that she would take further action if the situation didn't improve. When the neighbors came to confront her about reporting them, she didn't answer the door.
Now she wants to know whether she did the right thing or not. Here's how the AITA community responded to her post.

InternationalCow9466What do you think?
Engaging in behaviors that inconvenience one's neighbors in a shared space can cause tension and strain in relationships. It is important to remember that shared spaces require cooperation and consideration.
When an individual chooses to act in a way that negatively impacts others, they disrupt the harmony of the community and create unnecessary conflict. It is important to show respect for those around us and act in a manner that promotes a positive living environment for all.
